The best driving iron on the market.

The TaylorMade GAPR MID is a beast and we tested a few.

A market that seems to be coming back stronger year on year.

All the big brands have some sort of offer out, a decade ago you had to search far and wide.

We must give a notable mention to the TaylorMade P790 UDI Utility which just lost out in our testing. Enough about second place though, let's get started with the review.

TaylorMade GARP MID

This club boasts an expanded sole that helps assist beautifully with problems around turf interaction.

Foam, foam and more foam yes you read it correctly the innovative SpeedFoam helps deliver maximum ball speed on impact. The SpeedFoam fills up the cavity behind the club face without having a effect on weight.

A must have by today's standards, the loft is easily manipulated with the loft adjustment tool. You can go up or down from the standard loft of 18 degrees.

This club goes miles and we even felt on mishits the ball seemed to carry longer than expected. When struck in the center of the face the feel was incredible. we love the ability to freely be able to work the ball in the air one of the big reasons it got our vote.

We took a few shaft options to get the perfect one fitted, we would recommend a fitting for this club to get the perfect shaft. we got roughly the same swing speed as we do with our drivers I guess that's why this club is incredible long, maybe even to long. There is a Lo and Hi option please be sure to test them all.

Overall, this club is a great driving iron.

The GAPR boasts its a combination club combining a long iron, utility iron, and driving iron.

This club is a bit on the expensive side but delivers on performance in a big way. When we sat down to chose the rating, the only thing that held this club back from a perfect 5 was the price. We feel it may scare a few people away.
